College Basketball Team Ratings

Ratings are designed to rank teams based on their results in the current season. This is a bit different than determining if team X will beat team Y (although the higher rated team would generally be expected to win) and who will make the NCAA tournament (bracketology is a bit more nuanced).

• Prior season results, rankings, etc.
• Recruiting ranks, data, etc.
• Conference affiliation
• Program history/reputation
• Other computers (KenPom, NET)
• Other humans (AP, Coach's)
• Game stats other than final score
• Time of season (first game counts same as last game)

• Final scores (margin is a factor)
• Home court advantage
• Strength of schedule is indirectly factored in as the algorithm determines opponent quality based on the above 2 factors

College Basketball Predictions

Predictions incorporate team ratings as well as prior head-to-head matchups, home court advantage, and prior season ratings. Certain factors that betting lines may include such as injuries, roster changes, and other unusual circumstances are not factored into our predictions.
